Paul Di’Anno, whose real name was Paul Andrews, was the singer for Iron Maiden from 1979 to 1981 and performed on the band’s first two records. Paul Di’Anno passed away on October 21, 2024, at his home in Salisbury, England, at the age of 66. In the years leading up to his death, Di’Anno had been suffering from a weakened immune system after contracting sepsis nine years earlier. His death was caused by a tear in the sac around his heart, which allowed blood from the main aorta artery to fill the sac, ultimately causing his heart to stop.
A funeral service for Paul Di’Anno was held on Thursday, November 21, at the City of London Cemetery and Crematorium in Manor Park, East London, United Kingdom. This is the same cemetery where his former bandmate Clive Burr is laid to rest.
