RIMINI

Rimini is an Adriatic seaside city in Emilia-Romagna, Italy, with about 150,000 people and roots as the Roman colony of Ariminum, founded in 268 BC. It is best known as one of Italy’s classic beach resorts, with a long hotel-lined seafront, broad sandy beaches and a nightlife-heavy summer season, but the city also has a strong Roman and Renaissance core. Key sights include the Arch of Augustus, the Tiberius Bridge, the old centre around Piazza Cavour, and the Tempio Malatestiano, while nearby Borgo San Giuliano adds colourful streets and Fellini connections. Rimini is also a practical gateway to the Romagna Riviera, San Marino and inland hill towns, with good rail links along the Adriatic coast and Federico Fellini International Airport just south of the city.
