80’s Rock Bar Freak is another rock pub in Osaka that’s hard to find. But we track it down on the third floor of a corridor that looks like a regular apartment block, except there are different pubs behind every door. 80s Rock Bar Freak is about the size of a small flat and plays almost exclusively music from the 80s. During our visit – mostly Iron Maiden – since there is a concert in Osaka in a few days. There aren’t many people here when we arrive. Just the bartender and a couple sitting at the bar. Later, another guy shows up. The owner is really friendly, and even though he’s not very fluent in English, he starts up a few conversations.
