Bendigo Hotel in Melbourne is Collingwood’s metal-friendly workhorse, reborn. After a brief closure in 2024, The Bendi returned under the Mill Brewery crew with a refreshed front bar, a sunnier beer garden, and a tightened live focus led by local booker Kit Atkinson. The bandroom upgrade is serious: a new QSC L-Class line-array with hefty subs, specced with TAG/Pink Noise to handle everything from stripped sets to full-bore extreme metal. Food has levelled up too (think birria tacos and late service), and the weekly rhythm blends stacked heavy/punk/alt bills with long weekend hours. Two performance spaces keep the calendar moving; it’s back to being that up-close Melbourne sweatbox where the pit is metres from the taps.
