BUSHMILLS

Bushmills is a small village on the north coast of County Antrim, Northern Ireland, with a population of 1,247 recorded in the 2021 Census. It lies 60 miles (97 km) from Belfast, 11 miles (18 km) from Ballycastle, and 9 miles (14 km) from Coleraine. The village takes its name from the River Bush and a large watermill built here in the early 17th century.

Bushmills is best known as the home of the Old Bushmills Distillery, which has produced Irish whiskey for centuries and offers tours and tastings for visitors. The village itself has a welcoming atmosphere, with cosy pubs, local shops and cafés that make it an inviting stop on the Causeway Coast route. Just a short distance away is the Giant’s Causeway, a UNESCO World Heritage site, making Bushmills an ideal base for exploring one of Northern Ireland’s most spectacular landscapes.
