CURITIBA

Curitiba is a green, well-planned capital in southern Brazil, known for its parks, innovative bus rapid transit and a compact, walkable centre. Start in the historic Largo da Ordem for colonial façades, bars and the Sunday craft market, then fan out to signature sights: the glasshouse and lawns of the Botanical Garden, the eye-shaped Oscar Niemeyer Museum, and the steel-and-glass Wire Opera House set above a quarry lake. Barigui Park anchors everyday city life with joggers, capybaras and food stalls, while neighbourhood squares hide cafés, churrascarias and microbreweries. The hop-on Linha Turismo bus links the main attractions in a single loop, and the Serra Verde Express down the Atlantic Forest escarpment to Morretes makes an easy day trip.
