Eldorado Recording Studios is one of LA’s classic rooms with deep rock/metal pedigree. Eldorado began in 1954 as Johnny Otis’s workshop at Hollywood & Vine, shifted in 1987 into Marvin Gaye’s former Sunset Boulevard studio (a hotbed through the late-’80s/’90s alt/grunge wave), then in 1996 moved into a purpose-built Burbank facility designed by Steven Klein.
For Metal Travels: the client list crosses heavy genres—sessions by Slayer, Anthrax, Kreator, Fates Warning, White Zombie, Queensrÿche, and Avenged Sevenfold among others—alongside cornerstone LA records. Jane’s Addiction cut Nothing’s Shocking here; Red Hot Chili Peppers tracked their 1984 debut at Eldorado before breaking big later in the decade.
The house vibe blends modern capability with vintage character: Eldorado is known for well-kept classic outboard and consoles plus periodic upgrades (e.g., SSL additions), helping it retain “big record” punch while staying a go-to for live-band tracking.
