Hard Place in Zagreb is known as “The biggest little rock’n’roll club in town” — a two-room venue with a proper back concert hall (low ceiling, punchy PA, sloped sightlines) and a front bar that flips from weeknight hangout to packed weekend parties. The club was run for years by rock lifer Pišta (Hard Time) and relocated to its current home in early 2014, where it’s become a hub for local scenes and touring bills alike. Programming swings from cover-party blowouts and recurring theme nights (e.g., the long-running Blue Moon parties) to international club shows; past headliners have included Marky Ramone’s Blitzkrieg as well as heavy and punk acts dropping in between regional favourites. You’ll also catch Zagreb micro-fest staples using the room, such as “Velika rock eksplozija.” Expect cheap-ish rounds, late finishes, and a faithful leather-jacket crowd.
