HARPOS CONCERT THEATER

Harpos was originally built in 1939 as the Harper Theatre. It operated as a movie theater until it was transformed into a nightclub in the 1970s. In 1979, it was purchased by Ron Baltrusz, along with business partners Rick McNeil and Kurt Foltz, who turned it into a metal venue.

Bands such as Slayer, Megadeth, Overkill, Cannibal Corpse, Manowar, Twisted Sister, and Motörhead have performed there.

The final live appearance of Type O Negative took place at Harpos on October 31, 2009, before the death of Peter Steele on April 14, 2010.
