In 1976, AC/DC released the album ‘Dirty Deeds Done Dirt Cheap’. It was first released in Australia and, a few months later, in the UK with alternative cover artwork by Hipgnosis. This version of the cover is far more famous than the original Australian one. The photo was taken at a hotel on Sunset Boulevard in Hollywood, now known as Hotel Hwood. Back in 1976 it was called the Imperial 400 Motel, which was part of an American motel chain. Not much has changed since the 1976 cover photo was taken, except for the colours and the right-hand side of the image.
