JEFF HANNEMAN’S GRAVE

The guitarist of Slayer, Jeff Hanneman, sadly passed away on 2 May 2013. In early 2011, Hanneman contracted necrotising fasciitis in one of his arms. Reports linked the illness to a spider bite he said he had received while in a friend’s hot tub. In February 2013, Kerry King revealed that Hanneman was still battling health issues that prevented him from performing. Hanneman died of liver failure on 2 May 2013 at a hospital in Southern California near his home. On 9 May 2013, the official cause of death was announced as alcohol-related cirrhosis.

A public memorial service for Slayer guitarist Jeff Hanneman was held on 23 May 2013 at the Hollywood Palladium in Los Angeles. The event was open to the public on a first-come, first-served basis and featured speeches from fellow musicians and industry figures, a memorial video set to Slayer’s music, and even a surprise mosh pit among the fans.

He is buried at Pacific View Memorial Park in Newport Beach, a coastal city in southern Orange County, California. The inscription on his tomb stone is “Reign in Heaven”. Other notable burials at Pacific View include Kevin DuBrow (Quiet Riot), John Wayne and Kobe Bryant.
