A permanent public memorial to Led Zeppelin drummer John “Bonzo” Bonham stands in Mercian Square (Alcester Street) in Redditch town centre. Created by sculptor Mark Richards and unveiled on 31 May 2018—on what would have been Bonham’s 70th birthday—the double-sided bronze relief shows John Bonham mid-performance within an arcing composition roughly 2×5 metres. One face features Bonham at his kit; the reverse carries his Led Zeppelin IV symbol and an inscription honouring his influence. Mercian Square is an open public space a few steps from the Market Place and a short walk from parking at the Kingfisher Shopping Centre; for travel and visitor details, check Redditch Borough Council’s guidance.
