Rainbow Metal Club is a heavy metal bar at Dekeleon 40 in the Gazi district of Athens, Greece. Established in November 2010 in the former Glam Bar premises, the club takes its name from Ritchie Blackmore’s Rainbow. Its early musical profile centred on classic heavy metal, hard rock and glam metal, later expanding to include thrash, death, black, doom, gothic and other forms of metal.
The interior is dark and dominated by red lighting, with band posters, framed artwork and rock memorabilia covering the walls. One of its most distinctive features is a series of large video screens showing metal music videos and live concert footage throughout the night. A pool table and open floor area add to the club atmosphere, while the music is played loudly enough to remain the main focus of the room.
Rainbow regularly organises themed nights dedicated to different branches of metal, including traditional heavy metal, thrash, black, death, doom, nu metal and metalcore. Individual bands are also given dedicated nights, while occasional live performances by Greek bands have formed part of the programme.
