Seb’s Hotel is Hamar’s dedicated rock and metal den: a bar-plus-gig room known for sweaty, close-quarters shows and a no-nonsense heavy soundtrack. Locals know it for late nights, a 20+ age limit, darts and pool, and a large, social backyard that becomes prime hangout space in summer.
The venue’s roots go back to 2009 under owners Hein Rikar Steen Michaelsen and Roar Øverli. After a devastating fire in January 2022, community benefit nights and media coverage underlined how much of a local institution it had become. Plans to relaunch in a new central location followed, and in December 2025 the venue secured Kulturrom funding to rebuild its role as an east-Norwegian rock and metal hub.
Today Seb’s presents itself as “Hamar’s only rock & metal bar”, with a dedicated concert room, a large main bar and a membership scheme offering ticket perks and special nights — still driven by the same “come together for loud music” ethos that built the place.
