Sweden Rock Festival is a major rock festival held in Norje, near Sölvesborg in southern Sweden. It features a diverse lineup of classic rock, hard rock, metal, blues, and related genres.
The festival began as Sommarfestivalen i Olofström in 1992, moved to Karlshamn in 1993 as Karlshamn Rock Festival, and finally settled in Norje in 1998, adopting the name Sweden Rock Festival in 1999.
Initially a one-day event with nine local bands, it gradually expanded—lasting two days from 1993 to 2002, three days from 2003 to 2006, and finally four days from 2007 onward, featuring around 120 bands each year.
Notable acts over the years include Iron Maiden, Judas Priest, Mötley Crüe, Aerosmith, Deep Purple, Motörhead, Scorpions, ZZ Top, Slayer, and Guns N’ Roses.
