Oppegård Churchyard was used as a photo location for three Darkthrone albums: “A Blaze in the Northern Sky”, “Under a Funeral Moon”, and “Transilvanian Hunger”. On the latter album you can see promo shots with large pillars; in the same images you can spot the well-known candlestick used on the “Transilvanian Hunger” front cover.
The six pillars in the photos belong to the Ingier family. The better-known Darkthrone cross is also at Oppegård Churchyard—at least it was until it was removed for restoration. This is why many people have mistakenly gone to the identical cross at Kråkstad Church.
