The Flapper is located on the banks of Birmingham’s infamous Cambrian Wharf canal—two storeys with a dedicated gig room, pool tables and a big beer garden right on the water. The pub and venue has been going since the early 90s. After closing in January 2020 and facing redevelopment, it was saved from demolition and reopened on 21 July 2021 under a family-run team, returning as one of the city centre’s few remaining independent venues. The Flapper is a stone’s throw away from the Barclaycard Arena and is often used as a pre-gig venue for those heading to the arena. This is definitively the place to go if your into rock and metal in Birmingham.
