Double Down Saloon is a dive bar and live music venue in Las Vegas, Nevada. Founded in 1992 by P Moss, it is one of the city’s best-known off-Strip bars and has long been identified with punk rock, underground live music and an anti-glamour alternative to mainstream Las Vegas nightlife. Its slogans “Shut up and drink!” and “The Happiest Place on Earth” have become part of the bar’s identity.
The interior is as important as the music profile. The walls are heavily covered with stickers, posters and bar detritus, with almost every available surface filled in. Banknotes hang across the ceiling, while the bar also has pool tables, a jukebox and a graffiti-covered toilet that fits its deliberately chaotic dive-bar character.
Double Down Saloon is also known for its house drink “Ass Juice” and for a long-running calendar of free shows, punk gigs and late-night events. With its underground music history, filthy charm and aggressively unpolished atmosphere, it remains one of the clearest punk and rock alternatives to polished Las Vegas nightlife.
