Mayhem KBH is an underground live music venue and volunteer-run cultural space in Copenhagen, Denmark. Located at Ragnhildgade 1, in the city’s outer Nørrebro/Østerbro industrial area, it has been active since 2009.
The venue focuses on extreme and experimental music. Its programme includes noise, avant-garde music, free improvisation, experimental electronic music, punk, hardcore, underground metal, black metal, death/grind and other confrontational underground styles.
Mayhem KBH hosts concerts, noise events, experimental club nights, record fairs and small underground gatherings. The venue is run by volunteers and has a strong DIY character, with a programme shaped by independent organisers, small scenes and artists working outside mainstream music culture.
Bands that have played Mayhem KBH include Grave Desecrator, Slægt, Craft, Stargazer, Parish and Gabestok. This gives the venue a direct connection to black metal, death metal, punk and the more abrasive end of Copenhagen’s underground music scene.
