Odense Metalfest is a two-day indoor metal festival held at Musikhuset Posten in Odense, Denmark. Established in 2022, it takes place in October and focuses on death metal, black metal, thrash metal, hardcore and other extreme styles.

The festival was started by Jakob Schultz and Michael Hvolgaard Andersen in cooperation with Posten. Schultz is known from Invocator and Maceration, while Hvolgaard Andersen has long been active in Danish metal through Target Group and related work. The idea was to give Odense its own dedicated metal festival.

The first edition took place on 21 and 22 October 2022. Unleashed and Marduk headlined, with Born From Pain, LIK, Maceration, Dead Head, Puteraeon, Terrorpy and other bands also on the bill.

Odense Metalfest has kept a strong death and thrash metal profile, while also including hardcore, black metal and related underground styles. Bands that have appeared at the festival include Unleashed, Marduk, Asphyx, Sacramentum, Panzerchrist, HateSphere, Ryker’s, No Turning Back, Withering Surface, Illdisposed, Livløs, Hideous Divinity, Strychnos, Neckbreakker and Horned Almighty.

Danish bands make up a large part of the programme, including acts from Odense, Funen and the wider national scene. International bookings have mainly come from the European metal underground, with Sweden, the Netherlands and other neighbouring scenes well represented.

The festival usually presents around twenty bands across the two days. Alongside the concerts, Odense Metalfest includes tattoo artists, merchandise stands, food vendors, bars and an outdoor area connected to the venue.
