Algo Salvaje Rock Bar is a rock and metal bar at Calle del Párroco Don Emilio Franco 11 in the Puente de Vallecas district of Madrid, Spain. Opened in December 2023, it occupies the former premises of VKaos, one of Madrid’s long-running heavy metal bars. The new bar is run by Vikki, who took over the location after VKaos owners José and Tere closed the venue earlier that year.
The address already had more than two decades of heavy metal history when Algo Salvaje opened. VKaos had operated there since 2001, while the business itself traced its roots back to 1988 through earlier locations in Lavapiés and near Atocha. Over the years, it became closely connected with Madrid’s rock and metal community, with musicians from bands including Mägo de Oz, Obús, Lujuria, Ankhara and Guadaña among its visitors. Algo Salvaje has continued the heavy-music identity of the premises while giving the bar a new name and appearance.
Heavy metal, hard rock and classic rock dominate the soundtrack, with regular DJ nights under the Wild Sessions banner. Other events range from black, death and doom metal sessions to goth, darkwave, industrial and post-punk nights. The bar is also used for album listening parties, press events and occasional small live performances, including a free concert by hard rock singer Ian Wilde in 2026.
Algo Salvaje has developed strong connections with the wider Spanish metal scene through festival parties and promotional events. It has hosted Madrid events for both Leyendas del Rock and Rock Imperium Festival, with veteran Spanish metal journalist and DJ Rafa Basa appearing behind the decks. The bar has also served as a physical ticket outlet for concerts by bands such as Saratoga.
The interior is compact but packed with rock and metal decoration. One of the most striking features is a full motorcycle mounted on the wall, while a life-sized tiger stands on the floor among the rest of the memorabilia. Together with posters, band imagery and other heavy-music decoration, these oversized pieces give the bar a much more distinctive character than a standard neighbourhood rock pub.
