MON MADRID

Mon Madrid, also known as Sala Mon or Mon Live, is a concert venue and nightclub at Calle Hilarión Eslava 36 in the Chamberí district of Madrid, Spain. The venue covers around 1,500 square metres and has a concert capacity of approximately 800 people. Its programme spans a wide range of music, with rock and metal forming a substantial part of the live calendar.

The venue was previously known as Sala Penélope, a long-running name in Madrid’s nightlife and concert circuit. Following a major refurbishment, it reopened as Mon Live in September 2017. The renovation significantly altered the room, including changes to columns that had previously obstructed views of the stage, improved entrances and upgraded sound, lighting and screen technology. The venue continues to operate both as a concert hall for touring artists and as a nightclub outside live events.

Metal has remained a regular part of the programme under the Mon name. Artists appearing at the venue have included Mayhem, Therion, Pain, Zeal & Ardor, Deafheaven, Bleed From Within and Dirkschneider. The 2026 programme alone included Plini, Uncle Acid & The Deadbeats, Corrosion of Conformity and High on Fire, reflecting the venue’s strong position within Madrid’s mid-sized rock and metal circuit.

The former Sala Penélope also has its own place in Spanish metal history. On 6 March 2010, Saratoga recorded the concert later released as the live album and DVD “Revelaciones de una noche” at the venue, several years before it adopted the Mon name.
