Jimmy “The Rev” Sullivan was born in Huntington Beach, California. He was a powerhouse drummer, nicknamed “The Rev,” short for The Reverend Tholomew Plague. Sullivan was the drummer and a founding member of the band Avenged Sevenfold. In addition to touring with the group, he was also a vocalist, songwriter, and pianist, contributing to their first four albums.
On the morning of December 28, 2009, Sullivan was found dead in his Huntington Beach home at just 28 years old. Toxicology results later revealed that his death was caused by an overdose of Oxycodone, Oxymorphone, Diazepam, Nordiazepam, and alcohol.
His gravestone reads: “Beloved Son, Brother, Best Friend” and “Jimmy jumped into life and never touched bottom.”
