JAN-MARTIN JENSEN’S GRAVE

Jan-Martin Jensen (21 March 1963 – 10 February 2025) dedicated much of his life to music. He worked as a promoter through his company Radar Booking, ran record labels, published fanzines, worked as a sound engineer and managed artists. He is best known as the founder and long-time organiser of Inferno Metal Festival in Oslo, Norway.

Jensen founded Inferno Metal Festival in 2001 and continued to run the festival until his death in 2025, following a cancer diagnosis. Inferno became internationally known as one of the early extreme metal festivals with a strong connection to Norwegian black metal, while also developing into one of Norway’s most important annual metal events.

Jan-Martin Jensen is buried at Gamlebyen Cemetery in Oslo, in grave 12.010.09.003. His grave is marked with the iconic Inferno star at the top of the stone. The inscription reads “Elsket og savnet. Hvil i fred”, which translates as “Loved and missed. Rest in peace”.
