Southern Discomfort is a compact extreme metal festival in Kristiansand, Norway. After several quiet years, it returned on 10–11 October 2025 in a new city-centre venue, Caledonien Hall, with an 18+ entry policy. Line-ups blend Norwegian and international acts across black, death, and related styles; the 2025 edition featured Belphegor, Thyrfing, In The Woods…, Trail of Tears, Afsky, Beaten to Death, Bismarck, Diskord, Ironfister, and Nithe. A long-running local institution (est. 2002), the festival offers close-quarters shows with easy access from Kristiansand’s city centre.
