School Bar is a small, grassroots live-music venue tucked inside the Wudaoying Hutong area of Dongcheng, Beijing (No. 53). Opened in 2010 by local musicians, it became a cornerstone of the city’s indie, punk and rock scene, known for its close-quarters energy and underground focus. The compact two-level space hosts new bands, local favourites and touring acts, with a simple front bar and clear sightlines; over the years it has also featured a small rooftop area. Listings and set times are usually shared through social media and local gig guides.
