Bar Lemmy is a tiny, old-school heavy-metal bar close to Málaga’s historic centre, named in honour of Lemmy Kilmister of Motörhead. The bar has poster-lined walls, a long wooden counter and a soundtrack rooted firmly in classic heavy metal and thrash.
Active since the early 1990s and run by local scene veteran Juanma, Bar Lemmy has long been a fixed point in Málaga’s metal underground. The atmosphere is informal and social, with regulars, students and visiting metalheads sharing space and stories, often to the sound of Iron Maiden and Motörhead triggering full-bar sing-alongs. Prices are fair, the crowd mixed, and the focus is on the music rather than trends.
Opening hours tend to skew late, most reliably Thursday to Saturday from around 22:00 until 03:00–04:00. For decades, Bar Lemmy has been part of Málaga’s small Mariblanca-area rock strip, occasionally linking up with neighbouring bars for shared events.
