AC/DC was formed in Sydney, Australia, in 1973 by brothers Angus Young on lead guitar and Malcolm Young on rhythm guitar. The rest of the band’s lineup changed when the Youngs moved to Melbourne. The band relocated to London in 1976 and found success in Britain with “Let There Be Rock” (1977).
The principal members were Angus Young and Malcolm Young from Glasgow, Scotland; Bon Scott from Kirriemuir, Scotland; Brian Johnson from Newcastle upon Tyne, Tyne and Wear, England; Phil Rudd from Melbourne, Victoria, Australia; and Cliff Williams from Romford, Essex, England.
Today, Angus Young lives in Aalten, a municipality and town in the eastern Netherlands. Brian Johnson resides in Sarasota, Florida, USA. Phil Rudd resides in Bureta, Tauranga, New Zealand. Cliff Williams lives in Fort Myers, Florida, at the suggestion of AC/DC bandmate and nearby resident Brian Johnson.
Malcolm Young passed away on November 18th, 2017. He is buried at Waverley Cemetery, close to Sydney, Australia. Before his death he lived in his mansion in Balmain, Sydney in Australia.
