Aftershock Festival is a large rock, punk and metal festival held at Discovery Park in Sacramento, California. The festival started in 2012 and has grown from a one-day event into one of the biggest heavy music festivals in the United States, often described as the largest rock, punk and metal festival on the American West Coast.
The festival takes place outdoors at Discovery Park, close to the meeting point of the Sacramento and American rivers. Its programme covers a broad range of heavy and alternative music, including hard rock, heavy metal, punk, hardcore, alternative rock, nu metal, thrash, death metal and modern metal.
Aftershock is produced by Danny Wimmer Presents and has developed into a major multi-stage destination festival with more than a hundred bands across a typical edition. Its identity is built around the mix of mainstream rock headliners, legacy metal names, modern heavy bands and heavier underground acts, giving it one of the broadest heavy music profiles in the American festival calendar.
