Allen is a fast-growing city in Collin County, Texas, with about 114,000 residents, founded in 1870 as a railway town and incorporated in 1953. It forms part of the Dallas–Fort Worth metro area and sits about 20 miles (32 km) north of downtown Dallas along US-75. Today Allen is best known for large parks and family-oriented attractions, major retail hubs such as Allen Premium Outlets and Watters Creek, and a strong local sports culture centred on Eagle Stadium.
