Bangalore Open Air is India’s flagship metal festival, founded in 2012 by promoter Salman Syed in collaboration with Wacken Open Air and run by Infinite Dreams Entertainment. It has grown into a high-intensity, single-day event drawing thousands, typically staged on resort grounds in north Bengaluru, with two stages, a tight changeover pace, and a busy food/merch village. Recent editions have anchored themselves at Royal Orchid Resort & Convention Centre (the 12th edition ran there on 8 February 2025), while the festival’s history includes a Wacken Metal Battle India final that has sent domestic winners to perform in Germany. Past line-ups span international headliners and Indian mainstays—early years featured Kreator and Iced Earth; later bills brought Overkill, Immolation, Abbath and Suffocation; more recently Jinjer and Cynic topped the card.
