Café Iguana is a live music venue and bar in Monterrey, Nuevo León, Mexico. Located in Barrio Antiguo, the city’s historic nightlife district, it opened in 1991 and has become one of Monterrey’s best-known venues for rock and alternative music.
The venue began as a rock bar and developed into a multi-room concert space with a strong connection to Monterrey’s live music scene. Its layout has included several performance areas, including the Patio, the main stage and the metal-oriented Salón Metalero, giving the venue room for both larger concerts and smaller underground shows.
Café Iguana’s programme covers rock, metal, punk, hardcore, indie, ska, electronic music and other alternative styles. National and international bands have played there, while the venue also remains active as a stage for local and regional acts.
