Clive Burr was the drummer of Iron Maiden from 1979 to 1982 and performed on the first three Iron Maiden records. Burr was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis in the late 1990s. He died in his sleep on 12 March 2013 in London, four days after his 56th birthday, due to complications related to MS.
A funeral service was held for Burr on 25 March 2013 in London. However, he does not have a regular grave as he was cremated. Instead, there is a tree planted in the City of London Cemetery and Crematorium in his memory.
The inscription next to the tree says, “In Loving Memory of Clive Ronald Burr 1956 – 2013.” The tree can be hard to find as the cemetery is fairly large. It is on the right side of the main entrance and on the other side. Look for “Bed no. 1037.”
