Extremely Rotten Productions is an underground death metal label, distro and record shop in Copenhagen, Denmark. Founded in 2011 by David “Torturdød” Mikkelsen, known from Undergang and Phrenelith, it has become closely tied to Copenhagen’s death metal underground.
The physical shop is located in a basement on Gothersgade, close to Nørreport Station in central Copenhagen. The store specialises in death metal and related extreme metal, with a strong focus on old-school, rotten and underground sounds from Denmark and the international scene.
The shop’s stock includes vinyl, CDs, cassettes, shirts, patches, pins, books, magazines, art prints, merchandise and second-hand items. Extremely Rotten Productions also works as a mail-order distro, connecting the Copenhagen shop to a wider international network of death metal releases and collectors.
As a label, Extremely Rotten Productions releases and distributes underground death metal, with the physical shop giving the label a permanent base in the city. The store is deliberately specialised, with death metal at the centre of both the catalogue and the visual identity.
Extremely Rotten Productions is also behind the Extremely Rotten Death Metal showcase series. These events have taken place at Copenhagen venues such as Pumpehuset, Beta and Byhaven, presenting Danish and international death metal bands. In 2026, Extremely Rotten Death Metal Vol. 30 at Pumpehuset marked both the 30th edition of the showcase series and the 15th anniversary of Extremely Rotten Productions.
