HØNEFOSS

Hønefoss is a small city in Ringerike municipality, Buskerud, Norway, with about 17,000 people in the urban settlement. Set where the Begna River flows through town and becomes the Storelva on its way toward Tyrifjorden, it grew around the Hønefossen waterfall and became a town in 1852. The city is best known as the regional centre of Ringerike, with a compact core of shops, cafés and venues, plus strong links to forestry, paper industry and inland trade. Key sights include the riverside around Hønefossen, Søndre Park, the Ringerike Museum nearby, and easy day trips to Hadeland Glassverk, Kistefos Museum and the wider Tyrifjorden area. Getting in and around is straightforward by road via the E16, with bus links to Oslo, Drammen and the wider region.
