JOHNNY RAMONE’S GRAVES

Johnny Ramone (born John William Cummings; 8 October 1948 – 15 September 2004) was an American musician and the guitarist and a founding member of Ramones, a band that helped pioneer punk rock.

Johnny Ramone died at his home in Los Angeles on 15 September 2004, aged 55, after a five-year battle with prostate cancer. Many friends and musical contemporaries came to pay their respects. His wife, Linda, kept his ashes, but he is commemorated with a cenotaph at Hollywood Forever Cemetery in Hollywood, California — the same cemetery where Dee Dee Ramone is buried.

Many other celebrities are buried at Hollywood Forever Cemetery, including Vampira, Jayne Mansfield, Peter Lorre, Bugsy Siegel, and Burt Reynolds. Madonna also filmed parts of the “Like a Prayer” music video here.
