Legions Of Metal Festival is Chicago’s annual two-day celebration of classic heavy metal, power, speed and thrash—staged across both rooms at Reggies (Rock Club + Music Joint) with a Thursday pre-party and packed, tight-changeover schedules. Typical spring dates have doors opening in both rooms and lineups split across stages, giving the weekend a fast, indoor-club flow. Recent editions have featured names from US and Euro scenes side-by-side, with 2026 topping the bill with Trouble and Heathen.
Launched in May 2017 as the successor to Chicago’s Ragnarokkr Metal Apocalypse, the festival is co-run with Reggies/Empire Productions and has become a cornerstone of the city’s traditional-metal calendar. Coverage and archives trace its growth from the debut year to recent, sold-out weekends.
