MOSHPIT

MoshPit, outside of Sydney, is a South-end King Street’s cult, 100-cap rock’n’roll dive: dark brick walls plastered with vintage tickets and posters, a tight stage at the end of a long room, and crowd-on-the-monitors energy when it’s full. The weekly rhythm is community-first—Open Band Tuesdays, Open Mic Wednesdays, comedy on Mondays—then stacked original bills Thu–Sun with punk, rock, metal and oddball one-offs (punk-rock karaoke pops up, too). Bar vibe is unpretentious: local taps, cheap happy-hour schooners, and hot pizzas run straight to the table between sets. Opened in 2017, it’s become a Newtown/Erskineville lifer’s spot where touring underground acts meet Sydney regulars at sweatbox range.
