Oslo Deathfest is a death metal festival in Oslo, Norway. The festival started in 2023 and has been held across several of the city’s central underground venues, including Blå, Kniven, Vaterland and Goldie.
The festival is dedicated to death metal and related extreme metal styles, with a programme built around Norwegian and international underground bands. The first edition took place in December 2023 at Blå and Kniven, while the 2024 edition expanded to Goldie, Vaterland and Kniven. The 2025 edition was presented as the festival’s third edition and took place over two days in late November, with bands such as Engulfed, Hideous Divinity, Phrenelith, Repuked, Krypts, Nekromantheon and The Sickening on the bill.
The planned 2026 edition was postponed to 2027 after Goldie Bar Og Scene, one of the festival’s former venues and financial partners, went bankrupt. Oslo Deathfest remains closely tied to Oslo’s club-level death metal scene, with a focus on underground bands, small venues and extreme metal.
