Midian is the metal hub of Osaka. Pentagram is on the walls, and skulls are on the bar counter. Midian is also small, like most of the rock pubs in Osaka, but slightly larger than Cherry Bomb. So, there’s a bit more room to move around. It’s not exactly packed at Midian when we visits, but there are enough people that we need two hands to count the customers, at least. The atmosphere is incredibly friendly, and people are happy to chat with us all the time. A surprising amount of Norwegian music is played here, and I’m not sure if that’s because there are Norwegians visiting or if it’s their usual fare. Trollfest, 1349, WigWam, Ihsahn, and much more are on the playlist and appear on the screens. Varied, to say the least. Minus points for smoking indoors. Plus points for the bartender writing a note saying he’s closing the place when Iron Maiden plays the next day because he’s going to the concert.
