Rock Factory is a rock and heavy metal bar, restaurant and live music venue at 210/52–53 Soi Buakhao in Pattaya, Thailand. Opened in 2019, the venue has a direct connection with the German metal scene through Wolfgang “Hasche” Hagemann, former drummer of Running Wild.
The project was initiated by Hagemann’s German friend Hansi, who wanted to establish a dedicated rock and metal venue in Pattaya. Hagemann had previously spent more than three decades working with the legendary Rockfabrik club in Ludwigsburg, Germany, before moving to Thailand in 2020 and becoming involved with Rock Factory. Shortly after he joined the business, the venue was forced to close temporarily during the COVID-19 pandemic.
Rock Factory occupies a street-level building in central Pattaya, with a large performance stage at the rear of the room. The interior has dark walls, exposed ceiling structures, wooden tables and stools, while the stage is equipped with professional sound and lighting. A large Rock Factory logo forms the backdrop behind the performers.
Live music is central to the venue, with bands performing classic rock, hard rock and heavy metal. The repertoire includes material by Iron Maiden, Metallica, Slayer, Accept, Helloween, Dream Theater and Queensrÿche, giving the venue a considerably heavier profile than the mainstream rock normally associated with Pattaya’s nightlife. Rock Factory also operates as a restaurant, serving both Thai and European dishes.
The original house band, Reload-X, was discovered by Hagemann and his business partner while they were on holiday in the Philippines and was subsequently brought to Pattaya. By 2022, the band reportedly had around 250 rock and metal songs in its repertoire, covering a wide range of classic and heavier material.
Rock Factory has also occasionally welcomed established musicians onto its stage. In February 2023, Stevie Rachelle of American glam metal band Tuff joined the house band for several songs, while Hagemann himself has also performed on drums at the venue.
On 4 October 2026, Rock Factory celebrated its seventh anniversary with a reunion performance by the original Reload-X line-up alongside the resident RF Band. The venue’s combination of live heavy music, its connection to Running Wild and Rockfabrik, and its long-running house-band tradition has given it a distinctive place within Pattaya’s rock and metal scene.
