Finding rock bars is not easy on the continent of Africa, but Spitfire Bar is one of the few. It might be a stretch to call it a rock bar, but they do play some classic rock music, such as Aerosmith and Metallica. Spitfire Bar has a long history and was once frequented by US soldiers during the Second World War. Today, it’s more popular with backpackers and wealthy, young Alexandrians. It is located at the junction of Sharia Al Bursa and Sharia Sa’ad Zaghoul, about 250 meters west of Midan Sa’ad Zaghoul.
