THE BLACK HEART

The Black Heart is a rock and metal pub and live music venue in Camden Town, London. Located on Greenland Place, just off Camden High Street, it sits close to The World’s End and The Underworld in one of London’s main rock and alternative nightlife areas.

The venue combines a downstairs rock pub with an upstairs live room, giving it a dual role as both a drinking bar and a small concert venue. The pub area has a relatively calm atmosphere compared with some of Camden’s louder metal bars, with the music often leaning towards classic rock, 1970s and 1980s rock, hard rock and heavy metal.

The upstairs live room has a capacity of around 150 people and is closely connected to rock, metal, punk, doom, stoner rock, hardcore and alternative music. Its programme includes regular gigs, album launches, festival-related events and club nights, making it one of Camden’s important smaller rooms for underground and mid-level touring bands.

The Black Heart is also known for its dark interior, religious iconography, posters, heavy music atmosphere, craft beer selection and vegan food. Its combination of relaxed downstairs pub, intimate upstairs venue and central Camden location gives it a strong place in London’s rock and metal nightlife.
