True Thrash Fest is a long-running underground thrash-metal festival in Osaka, organised by the Rock Stakk Records camp. Typically held in mid-February and staged at ESAKA MUSE (with earlier editions at Umeda’s Am Hall), it brings together classic and new-wave thrash with allied speed and black acts. The festival’s history is well documented, with archived line-ups and live releases—notably a 2009 Osaka DVD and a 2012 CD/DVD set—and recent bills have mixed Japanese stalwarts such as Sabbat and Fastkill with international guests including Tankard, Razor, At War, Assassin and Metalucifer. Dates, tickets and running orders are announced through the festival’s social channels and participating bands. While sister or affiliate “True Thrash Fest” brandings sometimes pop up on club nights outside Japan (for example in Hamburg), the Osaka event is the original.
