WARSAW

Warsaw is the capital and largest city of Poland, situated on the River Vistula in the east-central part of the country. With a population of around 1.8 million, it is Poland’s main political, economic and cultural centre. The city was largely rebuilt after its destruction in World War II, blending restored historic districts with modern high-rises. Warsaw is known for its vibrant music and nightlife scenes, numerous museums and the contrasting atmospheres of its districts—from the elegant Śródmieście to the creative energy of Praga across the river.
