STEELHOUSE FESTIVAL

Steelhouse Festival is a rock and metal festival held at Hafod-y-Dafal Farm near Ebbw Vale in South Wales. Founded in 2011, it has grown into one of the best-known hard rock festivals in Wales and is widely associated with its mountain setting in the Brecon Beacons area. The organisers describe it as the UK’s highest music festival, a claim tied to its hilltop location above the surrounding valleys.

The festival has developed as a summer open-air event with camping rather than an urban multi-venue format. Over the years it has built a strong profile in melodic hard rock, classic rock and traditional heavy metal, while also featuring blues rock and related styles. Its history includes appearances by bands and artists such as Europe, Saxon, UFO, Black Star Riders, Uriah Heep, The Darkness, Airbourne, Michael Schenker, British Lion and Last in Line.

Steelhouse Festival has remained closely tied to the same Welsh mountain site throughout its run, and that setting has become one of its defining characteristics. By 2026 it reaches its fifteenth edition, showing a continuity that has helped establish it as a regular fixture on the British hard rock festival calendar.
