Dynamo Metalfest is a heavy metal festival held at IJssportcentrum Eindhoven in Eindhoven, the Netherlands. The modern festival started in 2015 and continues the legacy of Dynamo Open Air, one of Europe’s most important metal festivals during the 1980s and 1990s.
The festival presents a broad programme of metal, thrash, death metal, hardcore, hard rock and related styles. It has grown into a multi-day event with international bands, several stages, a metal market and signing sessions, while keeping a more compact format than the largest European metal festivals.
The connection to the Dynamo name gives the festival particular historical weight. Dynamo Open Air was once a key gathering point for European metal fans and helped establish Eindhoven as an important city in continental metal culture. Today, Dynamo Metalfest carries that history forward as one of the Netherlands’ main heavy music festivals.
