Malta Metal Weekend is a heavy metal festival held at Eden Arena in St. Julian’s, Malta. The festival was first held in 2025 and was created as a destination weekender, combining international metal bands with a central venue in one of Malta’s main nightlife areas.
The festival covers a broad range of heavy music, including classic heavy metal, hard rock, doom metal, gothic metal, progressive metal, death metal and melodic death metal. Its first edition in 2025 featured bands such as Opeth, Dream Theater, Apocalyptica, Geoff Tate and Cemetery Skyline.
The second edition was announced for 13 to 15 November 2026, with Europe, Kreator, Doro, Paradise Lost, Dirkschneider, Vandenberg, Omnium Gatherum, Candlemass, Gus G, Anvil, Anchorite, Angelcrypt and Atomic Flame on the bill. With its indoor arena setting, international line-up and location in St Julian’s, Malta Metal Weekend brings larger touring metal names into a compact island festival format.
