Monorama is a small live music venue in Åbyhøj, Aarhus, Denmark. Located on Tomsagervej, it is part of the Monorama music house operated by Musikforeningen Mono.

The concert room is an intimate indoor venue with a capacity of around 130 people. It is equipped with stage, PA, lighting, bar facilities, tables and seating, and is used for concerts, showcases, production rehearsals, workshops and other music events.

The room is closely connected to Aarhus’ independent music scene. Its size gives concerts a direct and close atmosphere, with local bands, developing acts and underground artists appearing only a short distance from the audience.

Rock and metal have been part of Monorama’s live programme for many years. Metal concerts were already taking place there in the early 2010s, including shows with bands such as Corpus Mortale, Altar of Oblivion, Die, Fossils, Ironguard, Battery, Glorior Belli, Impalers and Huldre.

Monorama is also the home of Mono Goes Metal, a compact metal festival and showcase event for Danish metal and hard rock bands. The festival uses the small concert room rather than a large festival setting, giving the event an intense indoor character.

The heavier side of Monorama’s programme has included death metal, black metal, thrash, doom, progressive metal, metalcore, hardcore and alternative metal. Bands connected to Mono Goes Metal and related events include Feather Mountain, Unseen Faith, Wolfhead, Heksproces, Lightchapter, Blodmåne, Lysbærer, Permanoia, Terminalist, Swartzheim, Krøyer, Danefae, Köya, Terrorpy and Sunken.

Monorama also hosts Monorama Rocks and other smaller concerts, showcases and music events. The venue’s role comes from its compact concert room, close connection to local musicians and regular use for rock, metal and alternative music in Aarhus.
