Metal Justice is a small pub on the fourth floor, and unlike most other pubs on upper floors in Tokyo, Metal Justice doesn’t have a lift. The owner immediately apologises for the forty-two steps we have to take to reach his little pub when he welcomes us at the door. Metal Justice is primarily a Metallica-dedicated pub. It has official status within the Metallica fan club as Tokyo’s Metallica pub. Metal Justice also offers five varieties of exclusive Metallica whiskey. The owner is perhaps the friendliest and most talkative pub owner I’ve ever met. Every time someone new comes in, he runs over to give them a warm welcome. He tells us that …And Justice for All was named Metal Justice when it was released in Japan in 1988, hence the name of the pub. He teaches us how to write our names in Japanese, shares many stories from over the years, and gives us Metal Justice/Metallica/Japannica pins. Overall, a great atmosphere and a must-visit if you’re in Tokyo.
